So, we went to Laurel this past weekend to spend time with Aunt M'Lee (who was visiting from Montana) and help Gamee out with some yard work. When we got home on Sunday, my poor boys looked like they had been abused all weekend. Davis had a huge bruise and knot on his head, plus a blood blister on his finger; Aidan cut his hand and suffered several bruises on his legs; and Tristan had scrapes everywhere. All of this from trying to walk down Gamee's sloped driveway and helping out with some cut branches. I guess next time my city boys need to wear boots, jeans, and long sleeved shirts to the country.

City boys in a country world
So, we went to Laurel this past weekend to spend time with Aunt M'Lee (who was visiting from Montana) and help Gamee out with some yard work. When we got home on Sunday, my poor boys looked like they had been abused all weekend. Davis had a huge bruise and knot on his head, plus a blood blister on his finger; Aidan cut his hand and suffered several bruises on his legs; and Tristan had scrapes everywhere. Aidan's First T-ball Practice
Aidan is sooooo excited about playing T-ball. He talks about it constantly and his enthusiasm showed at his 1st practice. Coach Jeff was asking the tots to point to the bases as he called them out. Instead, my little slugger decided to run to each base as Coach Jeff called it out. Aidan also thinks it is pretty cool that Coach Jeff's son's name is Duncan.
Family Foyers Picnic
So, I have been really lazy about posting this week. Going way back to Saturday, the 19th, we had the Family Foyers picnic for the young families in our church. It was tons of fun! Although, I've realized that I get into a comfort zone and talk with the same people each time. I really need to work on introducing myself to new folks.

Belhaven Neighborhood Association Picnic
Our good friends, the Newburgers invited us to their neighborhood picnic this past Sunday. We Welches had a great time - their was live music, pizza, and cookies. What more do you need? We also ran in to Aunt Kim and Uncle Mickey, and the boys always love that.
Last Day of Soccer
This past Saturday was Aidan and Tristan's last soccer game. Tris scored one goal, and Duncan actually had to coach the game. Aidan was a little unfocused on Saturday, but he was excited about getting his trophy at the team party. Now, on to T-ball and Coach pitch.....I'm honestly considering boycotting all sports next year and just letting the boys play in the backyard. Some days I feel like we just run from one place to the next.

Arts, Eats, and Beats
Tonight we met the Paduda's for the annual Arts, Eats, and Beats in Fondren. It's the one night of the year where the shops and art galleries stay open late. There is live entertainment, great food, and drinks (for adults and kids). We had a great time, and we were very excited to be participating in an event in what will soon be our new neighborhood. All of us Welches can't wait to move into Fondren! The boys really loved the music and the ride on the trolley. They also loved the Fondren Beverage Emporium where they played pinball with Aunt Kim and ate a little candy, too.

Superheroes Among Us!

I have gotten used to many things having boys - hammering on walls, floors, etc.; trucks, cars, planes everywhere; and the other things like tooting and such that send them into giggle fits. As a woman, I just don't get it. One of the other FUN things I enjoy, though, is their superhero role playing. Spiderman and Batman were protecting the good citizens of the Welch house the other day. When these two are around, we have no fear for we are safe (so they tell me). I added a blurry, but happy pic of Davis. He doesn't have a costume yet, but I'm sure we will be adding Superman to our brood soon.

Bigfoot the Monster Truck
Bigfoot the (world famous) monster truck was in town today. We took the boys out to see it. They were in awe of how big it was and wanted to know how anyone gets inside of it. I took pics with my camera phone, and I will have to post them later after I figure out how to download them. We've spent most of the day around the house because of the power outages everywhere which makes it very difficult to travel. We are just lucky that we had no house damage yesterday.

Random mommy thought of the day

Over the past few days the boys have done or said something that just amazes me or puts a smile on my face, and I just wanted to share it. Tristan is learning about habitats in his Kindergarten class. His favorite thing to discuss with us when he gets home from school is the chrysallises that the caterpillars have made. I think it is too cute that he knows what a chrysallis is, and he is anxiously watching each day for the transformation of the caterpillar to a butterfly. He might be waiting awhile because he told Duncan and I that it is going to take 300 years!
Aidan is really into singing along with the radio right now. Each morning on the way to Pre-K I get to listen to rousing renditions of the The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Feel Good, Inc. by the Gorrillaz and generally anything that comes on the radio. That little man can hear a song once and he knows every word. Much to Duncan and I's amusement, Aidan and Davis often duet to Low by Flo Rida. It is hysterical.
Davis thinks he is the man of the house right now. Duncan is renovating our shower, and Davis is his helper. He likes to sit next to Duncan and hand him tile, beat on things with his hammer and screwdriver, and he asks Duncan, "What do you think?" each time Duncan completes a row of tile. He also has been really busy using this weedeater and lawnmower on the rug in the living room. I guess this is his equivalent to the vacuum cleaner! Thanks for letting me share/brag. I am really blessed to be the mommy to these 3 precious boys. I posted an old photo of the 3 from our beach trip this past summer. They fight a lot, but if they are not together they miss each other terribly.
