Who Dat?

Reggie Bush, #25
Just the norm, no one looking in the same direction
Deuce
Tris and Davis

Last night, Duncan and I decided to take the boys to see the New Orleans Saints training camp. They practiced at Veterans Memorial stadium, and it was actually a pleasant, breezy evening because of the afternoon showers. The boys had a blast. They were totally fascinated with how high and far the punters and field goal kickers could kick the ball. Tristan kept asking Duncan the name of his "friend", Deuce. And speaking of Deuce, he looked pretty good for just having knee surgery. You could tell he was trying to be gentle on it though. Here's hoping that the Saints have a great season this year!

Children's Choir at Church

These are just a couple of pics of the kids performing as the children's choir at church after VBS week.

Long Beach Weekend

We drove down to Long Beach this past weekend to spend time with Papaw and LaLa and get some furniture for the house. We spent Saturday morning swimming, but some much needed rain made its way in that afternoon. So, the rest of the time we spent inside. Duncan, Gray, and I went out to dinner and to see the Dark Knight (which I really enjoyed). I always love going home. Mom always cooks us some great food, and Papaw preoccupies the boys with wrestling and rides on the lawn mower. I will post a pic later, but every time we visit my dad gets all 3 boys on the John Deere and cuts the grass. I take a picture each time so it has been fun to watch through the years as Papaw has added first one, then another, and then another grandson to his mowing crew. My parents love those Welch boys!

Family togetherness Saturday

We had a great day today. Duncan ran in the "Hit the Bricks" 5K in Clinton this morning, so the boys and I picked up Chick-fil-a and had a picnic breakfast while we waited on Daddy to cross the finish line. Tristan brought his rocket and told me as soon as Daddy passed us he was going to shoot it in the air, and that he did. We were so excited and clapped enthusiastically when Daddy passed us.

Then it was off to Sophie's 3rd Birthday party. Lots of water and sprinkler fun. Happy Birthday Sophie, or as Davis calls her Soapie!
After nap time, we finished off the day at the park.

The Great Escape - Vacation Bible School 2008

Aidan and big brother Gray during game time.
Aidan making his cross necklace from clay.
Davis playing in the nursery. He'll be old enough to join us next year.
Tristan intently making his cross necklace.
The "Great" Finale as Aidan called it!
The boys and I have had a fun week at church! It was Vacation Bible School, and our topic of discussion was Moses leading his people out of Egypt to cross the Red Sea. I was the co-leader of Tristan's group, and I think I might have had more fun than the kids did. Each night we spent doing arts and crafts, singing, listening to Moses' story, and playing games. The week culminated with a large production in the church as our children (or Moses' people) followed Moses across the parted Red Sea. I look so forward to next year, and I am so thankful to our church because of the effort they put into our children's spiritual growth. Our boys love going to church and get so excited on Sunday mornings, and it warms my heart. Thank you St. Andrew's!

Prayer Request

Please pray for Gray's mother's family. His grandfather, Dick Hendrickson passed away on Monday of cancer. Dick was always so nice to me and treated me as if I were part of his family, although I wasn't related by blood. He and Gray were exceptionally close, and my heart breaks because I know how much Gray will miss him.

Duncan and Tristan's Birthday Week!!!!!

LaLa taking her turn. My mom wore herself out at this place!

The week revolving around July10th and 11th is an exciting one in our house. Duncan turned 34 on the 10, and is aging like a fine wine in my opinion; and Tristan turned 6 on the 11th. Our week started out with a visit from Grandoc and MiMi. They so generously took our whole wild crew out for pizza and ice cream at Sal and Mookie's. We had a great visit and look so forward to their next visit. Good luck Grandoc on your Boards!

Thursday night, Duncan and I went to eat sushi at Sakura Bana to celebrate his birthday. It was so nice to spend some alone time as a couple together. We don't get to do that often.

Friday night, Tristan got to choose where he wanted to eat. In his own words, "Hmmmmm, I want to go somewhere different. How about McDonald's?" Not so different, after all.....but we all had a great time until Davis found himself stuck at the top of the Play Place. I was the fortunate soul that battled short person tunnels to rescue him. We had a few head knocks on the way down.

Saturday morning we attended Brayden's birthday party and just relaxed the rest of the HOT day.

Sunday afternoon was Tristan's party at Pump It Up! Love that place! Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Johnny came in town from Ocean Springs, and we were so excited to show them our new house and hang out with them for the day. Thanks so much for making the drive up! Tristan had a great time with his friends, and here's hoping to another great year. I love you, T-man!

Happy Fourth of July

The Welch family has had a great long weekend. We've enjoyed spending each night with some great friends and great food. Thursday night we attended the Fondren Fourth of July celebration at the Cedars with the Padudas. Tristan and Aidan had a great time. There was a space jump and some great trees to climb so the boys were in heaven. Friday we spent the afternoon and evening with the Lewis family. There was nothing better than cooking out and watching the kids play in the jumper, on the slip and slide, and in the sprinkler while we were eating some homemade ice cream. Thanks Kevin! Today we spent the day with the Long family at their home near the lake. We had a great time swimming and riding around the lake on their new boat. How blessed we are to have such great friends! I hope everyone had a Happy 4th.

Davis spent Thursday and Friday night camping with the Boykin family at Jellystone Park in Pelahatchie. I missed my baby, but he had such a great time. He was so excited to play at the water park, ride in the 4th of July hayride, and he also hugged Yogi Bear. Ms. Betty and her daughter, Filisha, have been watching my baby while I'm at work since he was 8 weeks old, and they treat him like a family member. We are very thankful and blessed to have such a great family take care of our little one. This is the tank at the entrance of the campground. The boys and Daddy had to get out and climb on it, of course.
