I so vividly remember the morning we were going to the hospital. Aidan was bound and determined that he was going with us. He even got his suitcase and was already showing his characteristic stubborness.
For several months, we had to keep a close watch on Davis when Aidan was around. Aidan was always trying to climb on him to give him a kiss.
Tristan was very sweet and loving at all times. A drastic change from when I brought Aidan home from the hospital. Tristan wouldn't acknowledge me for a couple of week. He was so mad! I guess there is a big change from having a new baby home at the age of 20 months compared to being a BIG 3-year old.
Sweet Davis in his going home outfit! The boys are so excited about the new baby coming. Davis asks me every day "When's that baby coming?" When I say, January, he whines, "that's a really looong time." So their excitement, plus the book that I have been reading entitled "It's a Boy" sent me on a trip down memory lane. This book is written by women writers and is about their experiences on raising sons. On several occasions it has brought a tear to my eye or a chuckle to my belly. So many of the circumstances I have encountered in my own life. Last night I was reading a tale of a mother and her teenager. She was thinking about how she used to run her fingers through his hair each night when he was a toddler, and at this point and time, he barely acknowledged her unless he needed something. So, I started looking at some old pics and thought I would post some of Davis's arrival. I think it accurately captures the enthusiasm that the boys are showing, and it also shows how small Tristan and Aidan were when I was running my fingers through their hair each night (which I still do, by the way)!
